Jorge was an extraordinary person who had the rare ability to make life more enjoyable for all who knew him. In honor of Jorge, his passion for life, travel, and with the goal of making life a little better for those less fortunate, we started the Jorge Nation Foundation Inc. (JNF), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. JNF's purpose is to raise funds to send children stricken with a terminal or serious illness on a once-in-a-lifetime all inclusive "Dream Trip" to a destination of their choice. JNF is extremely proud to partner with the region’s leading pediatric hospitals, including Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (formerly Miami Children’s Hospital) for the purpose of referring qualified children and families for consideration. Jorge's passion was traveling to all parts of the world seeking new adventures. The Jorge Nation Foundation was created to extend his legacy and raise funds for those less privileged that also have a passion for life and travel.

Sumer is the Secretary and one of the founders of Jorge Nation Foundation (JNF). Sumer and Jorge have been connected since 2004, and were engaged to be married at the time of Jorge’s passing in 2010. While there are many things Sumer loved about Jorge, she is proud to help honor his memory with JNF, paying homage to his zest for life and passion for travel. Jorge was always incredibly devoted to his business, Xtreme Trips, which brought adolescents and young adults on chaperoned Spring Break trips, exposing them to the world around them. Sumer’s goal for the foundation is to help Jorge’s legacy live on by sending children in need on once-in-a-lifetime Dream Trips. In addition to her dedication to the foundation, Sumer works in account services representing spirits giant Bacardi USA. Sumer continues to live in Miami and looks forward to paying homage to Jorge by helping to make the foundation a success.
